SACE Archived Awards (thru 2007)

 Ajax/Griffin Award Winners

The award, the highest presented by the Association, is named in honor of Fred W. Ajax and George C. Griffin, whose keen foresight and unlimited efforts were paramount in the establishment, development growth of the Southeastern Association of Colleges and Employers, With respect for the high ideals these two gentlemen demonstrated, this award was presented.

The award was presented to current or former members of the Association who had made notable contributions with distinguished achievement to the Association, the field of career planning, placement or recruitment and/or the National Association for Colleges and Employers. To be considered for this award, individuals must have been active and contributed in one or more of the following types of activities: the development of programs and held leadership roles in the Association for a considerable number of years, contributed in an innovative way to the professional development of the field, authored publications of a creditable nature, represented the Association in an exemplary manner in the offices of the NACE. Approval for presentation was made by the SACE Board of Directors.

SACE STAR Award Winners

The Southeastern Association of Colleges and Employers (SACE) STAR Award was presented annually to a person or persons to recognize significant and outstanding contributions to the profession, to the society or to SACE.  The STAR Award was a prestigious recognition of service and contributions exceeded only in significance by the Ajax/Griffin Award. The STAR Award was given to a college or employer representative. The recipient did not have to be, or have been, a member of SACE, but must have made notable or sustained contributions to SACE or the profession.

Recipients of the STAR Award made a major and significant contribution to the career services profession or had a sustained impact on SACE over a period of time; and were nominated by SACE members and approved by the SACE Board of Directors.

Certificate of Appreciations were presented to members of the Association, to persons actively engaged in career planning, placement or recruitment, and  to organizations which made notable contributions to the field of career planning, placement and recruitment or provided outstanding service to the Association. This award was presented, upon the recommendation by the President and approval by the Board of Directors, to individuals who had completed assignments of special significance to the Association

New Professional Award Recipients

The New Professional Award was presented to individual SACE members with no more than five years in the profession who demonstrated significant contributions to career planning, placement and/or recruitment. The contributions may have been to the association, a state association, NACE or through direct activities as a part of their normal employment.

These activities showed innovation, reflected foresight, and displayed promise that the individual had the unique quality of future leadership.
