Volunteer Opportunities

There are many opportunities for committee service in SoACE. Service in these committees provides SoACE members opportunity for professional development and experience that are both personally and professionally rewarding.  Following is a general description of the committee activities.

Conference Committee

Volunteers on this committee work in the planning and implementation of the annual conference.  Tasks include developing programs, scheduling activities and related logistical work.

Consulting Services

Volunteers  visit colleges and employers at the request of the member organizations to provide feedback and recommendations on office operations and services.

Technology

Volunteers participate in planning electronic resources for SoACE members.  Provides input and direction in developing the website and related information management issues. 

Membership and Communications Committees

Volunteers can be responsible for the marketing of the organization to members and potential members, including the welcoming of new members, overseeing production of the membership directory or involved in writing and organizing the newsletter.

Professional Development

Volunteers are responsible for determining and recommending workshops, orientation, and other educational and training programs to contribute to the professional development of the membership.  Outstanding volunteer leadership opportunities are available through the following subcommittees:
